Sobriety Journey connects discharged patients with their counsellors through a structured 12-session aftercare program — the critical bridge between residential treatment and lasting recovery.
Day 47 of your sobriety journey
The problem
"WhatsApp groups and spreadsheets are the current standard. Patients fall through the cracks before anyone notices."
How it works
From discharge day to the final aftercare session, every patient has a roadmap and every counsellor has a clear view of their caseload.
The counsellor creates the patient's profile before discharge day. Name, phone number, discharge date, and assigned counsellor. The app is ready and waiting when they walk out the door.
The counsellor schedules all 12 aftercare sessions. Each one appears on the patient's app as a step on their journey — a roadmap with a real destination that isn't abstracted into a calendar.
Patients check in daily — 30 seconds, mood and craving score. The counsellor dashboard turns green, yellow, or red automatically. Miss two days and the counsellor gets an alert before a crisis becomes a relapse.
Patients message their counsellor directly. Every message is logged to the clinical record. Counsellors send AI-assisted therapeutic exercises to groups — each patient's response stays private, never visible to others.
A sobriety clock counts every day. Badges unlock at 7, 14, 30, 60, and 90 days. A money-saved tracker reframes recovery as financial gain. Small moments of recognition on the long road.
The platform
The counsellor dashboard gives clinicians what they need. The patient app gives recovering individuals what they need. Different interfaces, shared purpose.
Desktop-first. Built for the counsellor who manages 10–30 patients across the post-discharge period.
Mobile-first. Built for the patient navigating day-to-day life after leaving residential treatment.
Built for South Africa
Every major recovery app in the world was built overseas. This one wasn't.
Session reminders and alerts go via WhatsApp — because that's what South Africans actually use and respond to.
Each rehab centre's data is fully isolated in its own environment. No data crosses tenant boundaries. Data is exportable on request.
Built by a rehabilitation CEO with four decades in the field. Not a Silicon Valley product manager's guess at what patients need.
